Why scalp health comes before hair health

It's tempting to treat hair fall as a hair problem. Mostly, it's a scalp problem wearing hair's clothes. The follicle sits in the scalp — if that environment is inflamed, overly oily, or chronically dry, the strand it produces is compromised before it ever reaches the surface.

This is why a hair-fall routine that only conditions the visible hair, without addressing the scalp underneath, tends to plateau. Ingredients aimed at the extracellular matrix and micro-inflammation are working one layer down from where shampoo and conditioner operate.
