What's actually normal to lose in a day

Losing somewhere in the range of 50 to 100 strands a day is generally considered part of the normal hair cycle — hair doesn't grow forever, it cycles through growth, transition, and rest, then sheds to make room for a new strand.

What's more useful than counting is noticing *change*: a hairbrush that's suddenly fuller than usual, or a shower drain that needs clearing more often than it used to. Trend matters more than any single number — which is exactly what a routine tracker is for.
